One of the problems with aerating a lawn is the work that is required using the tools as it can be hard to push or hold a tool that is penetrating the grass and quite allot of effort can be needed. Fortunately there is another option and that is the shoes!
|The shoes are great due to the fact that they are so easy to use and require so little effort.|
The aerating tools require allot of effort to push to achieve the penetration but with the shoes your own body weight is used and so it is much easier to do this, you simply walk on the lawn in a methodical manner remembering where you have gone and treading in an as even manner as you can manage and then you will have a well aerated lawn.
You wear the shoes over your usual shoes (they are also often called sandals) and they have straps that fasten them to your shoes or boots. Make sure that you fasten them tightly as this will make them easier to use and prevent any unwanted errors or the aerating shoes falling from your feet.
The disadvantage with the shoes is that they are not as even thorough as the aeration provided by a machine or pushed tool. They are cheaper though and easier to use and so are a very popular option and as aerating is such an infrequent job most people don’t mind the fact they they will not produce a perfect outcome.
